I've figured out a new term for art theft/tracing in which the tracer goes through efforts to cover his or her tracks: art laundering. Shit like "scan a photo or piece of art from a magazone or book, flip it, trace it, no one will know the difference hurrhurr!" Well I found an art launderer over on y!Gallery. On a less Schadenfreude-ish note, this painting that's been plaguing me for, what, nearly two months now is coming along again. There's something terribly fascinating about watching a piece transform from empty white space to base colour to rough chunks of light and shadow to a textured surface.
